My greatest goal in life

In all honesty, I am not as obedient as Abraham who was willing to offer his son, Isaac as an oblation to the Lord. I am also not as strong and determined as Saint Augustine who by the grace of God and the fervent prayers of his mother, Saint Monica led a chaste and holy life.

However, this is enough inspiration to me to strive to be a Saint. I once heard in a sermon by a holy priest that in order to be virtuous, one must strive with all his might to follow and so simple acts of virtue until they become a habit and thus move on to more virtuous acts. As one continues to pray and lead a holy life, time will come when that person would have done heroic acts of virtue just like the Saints of Holy Mother Church has done. Here is my greatest and final goal in life: To be a Saint.

May: Month of Our Blessed Mother

May is a special month in honor of the Blessed Virgin. Filipinos in particular have a special and unique affinity to her. Look at all the fiestas we have this month. All of those are in her honor.

Most Catholics this month offer special devotions to her Immaculate Heart.

Some don't because they think she ain't worth the effort. She is just a plain simple mother who won't do us any good by praying to her. How sad...

She is the Mother of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Yes she died but she was immediately assumed into heaven.

If we want to honor and glorify Jesus we must love and honor His Mother. Jesus loved His Mother so much. We ought to do the same. Even Martin Luther and John Calvin have a special devotion to Mary. Just read your history folks. If they can, why can't we?

Life is Short

We are all sojourners on this earth. This is not our permanent home. God has something beautiful waiting for us when we leave this world. This blog will help your direct your thoughts towards the things of heaven rather than the things that pass away.
