Holy Week Plans

I know. I really have to do something about this blog. As you've noticed, its cluttered with many of my retweets from my other social networking sites. As this is the season of Lent, I see that I have to clean things up a bit. So, here I am.

What I really need to do this week is to make a confession. If possible, I need to make a general confession. Believe it or not, my last confession was almost three years ago.

Three years? Well there a lot of people who are older than me who will be making their first confession since the time they made their first communion. So what's the big deal?

St. Leonard of Port Maurice said it best: "To be saved for all eternity, to be damned for all eternity, and to not make your every effort to avoid the one and make sure of the other, is something inconceivable."

Now, I am seeing how it is such an inconceivable thing indeed. God created me, to know, love and serve him in this world so I can be forever with Him in the next. Now add to that His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, whom He sent to die on the cross to redeem me and humankind.

So the question that needs answering is, what have I been doing all this time to make sure that I will be with Him when the time comes? What if that time is three minutes from now? What if (God forbid) I get killed in an accident, just like AJ Perez? Will I have time to repent after something so fast and so tragic?

Tomorrow, I will try to share with you something I know about the Sacrament of Penance and how to make one. As Catholics, we have an obligation to at least have one confession every year (part of the Seven Precepts of The Church).
